Salute George Washington this Presidents’ Day Weekend! Revolutionary War reenactors and living historians from the 3rd New Jersey Regiment will be stationed at N-YHS. Explore a Continental soldier’s tent and see their uniforms and equipment up close. From 2 to 4 pm, get in the "Spirit of 1776" by dyeing your own piece of ribbon, just like a patriot!

The Third New Jersey Regiment will be back to the New-York Historical Society! Stop by the Museum this weekend to meet members of the Third, ask them questions about what life was like for a common soldier during the American Revolution, see their uniforms up close, and even handle some of their fascinating gear! 

It's Summer Fun at the New-York Historical Society and the DiMenna Children's History Museum. Children 18 and under will enjoy FREE admission every weekend when the visit for Living History Summer.

AT-TEN-TION! The Third New Jersey Regiment, a living history troop, will be stationed at the New-York Historical Society for two days this Thanksgiving weekend. Come meet members of the Third and their commander Colonel Elias Dayton as they appeared at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777. See their uniforms and gear up close and join the soldiers in drills and exercises! All ages.

Meet the men of New York’s own 26th United States Colored Troops (USCT) regiment and visit the new exhibition Homefront & Battlefield: Quilts & Context in the Civil War. The USCT were regiments of the United States Army during the American Civil War and were composed of African American—“colored”—soldiers.

Stand at ease and come meet the soldiers of Company K of the 67th New York Volunteer Infantry. See military and camp gear up close, and ask these troops all about their uniforms, daily life, and their thoughts on the Civil War.
