On the 151st anniversary of Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s surrender to Union General Ulysses S. Grant, come learn about life on and off the battlefield during the Civil War! Soldiers from the First Long Island Volunteers will be stationed at N-YHS all weekend. See uniforms, weapons, and learn a military drill!

We are celebrating Silicon City: Computer History Made in New York by learning how soldiers in the American Revolution invented new ways to outsmart the enemy and communicate across the battlefield with musical signals.

Spend Presidents’ Day with George and Martha Washington, portrayed by historical reenactors Michael & Maria Grillo! They'll be joined by reenactors portraying George Washington’s personal bodyguard and a boy from the 18th century. Chat with them all about to the Washingtons’ life stories and the role New York played in our nation's history. Make sure to wish George an early  “Happy 284th Birthday!”
