In anticipation of Mother’s Day, join us for an intimate morning conversation celebrating the impact grandparents have on their families and the nation as a whole. Renowned journalist Lesley Stahl and Geoffrey C. Ward—widely lauded for his documentary work with Ken Burns—present an intimate discussion focusing on Sara Delano Roosevelt, FDR’s commanding mother, whose relationship with the Roosevelt family and prominent role in her grandchildren’s lives helped shape the American presidency and the nation.
Geoffrey C. Ward is the script writer for the documentary series The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, which was directed by Ken Burns—his collaborator since 1984. Lesley Stahl (moderator) is a correspondent for 60 Minutes and author of Becoming Grandma.
Presented in collaboration with the Center for the Study of Women’s History at New-York Historical Society
