Need inspiration for a DIY Mother’s Day gift? This weekend we are celebrating creative tools from the past now on display in the new North Gallery of our fourth-floor Henry Luce III Center.
On Saturday, meet a 19th-century painter portrayed by living historian Michael Goudket. Watch drawing demonstrations and handle some of the artist’s tools that you might find in Asher Durand’s studio a century and a half ago! Afterward, don’t forget to head up to the fourth floor to learn more about Durand and see his original paintings and equipment.
Curious about other New York crafts from the past? Stop by on Sunday to meet an 18th-century woodworker!
