Join us any day this weekend to remember the service of veterans past and present! In conjunction with Black Citizenship in the Age of Jim Crow, meet soldiers and citizens from different wars portrayed by Living Historians—including members of a unique African American regiment each day.

Have you heard of the ‘Harlem Hellfighters?’ Commemorate 100 years since World War I ended on this day in 1918 with Living Historians portraying men from the 369th Regiment U.S. Infantry, who originally named themselves ‘the Rattlers,’ and women in the unit’s Auxiliary on the home front. Learn about life in the trenches and back in New York for African Americans, guess which parts of their uniform are American and which were issued by the French command with whom they fought, and investigate other military tools and equipment for ‘digging-in!’

Want to follow the evolution of black citizenship into the past or future? Join us on Saturday and Monday respectively to meet Living Historians bringing to life experiences from the American Civil War and World War II.
