Lon Po Po: A Red-Riding Hood Story from China by Ed Young

This month, we are celebrating the recent opening of our special exhibition Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion with four beautifully illustrated Chinese and Chinese American stories.

Join us for a menacing retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale which features three courageous and clever young girls who outsmart the Big Bad Wolf. This week, we will be joined by an educator from Planet Han who will perform an additional reading of Lon Po Po (in Chinese!) and engage children with activities, such as songs, crafts, or games, incorporating simple Mandarin vocabulary and Chinese culture.

Based on the Upper West Side, Planet Han (planethanchinese.com) is a fast-growing language enrichment program that serves children and their families in New York City, utilizing a proven "Model. Action. Talk." teaching approach.
