Most people have heard of Paul Revere, but did you know that there was another courageous Patriot who rode through the countryside to spread the word that the British were coming? Her name was Sybil Ludington. Come join us for a story time with Karen B. Winnick, author of Sybil’s Night Ride!  

After the reading, stay for a short presentation by Winnick on how she followed Sybil’s trail 220 years later while researching her book. The presentation will be followed by a short Q & A and book signing with the author.

Karen B. Winnick is a children’s author and artist, animal enthusiast, and president of the Los Angeles Zoo Commission. Her previous books include Gemina, the Crooked-Neck Giraffe and Mr. Lincoln’s Whiskers. She lives in Los Angeles, California.
