This month at Sunday Story Time we're celebrating African-American artists! Join us this week to read Henry Ossawa Tanner: His Boyhood Dream Comes True written and illustrated by Faith Ringgold.

Henry Ossawa Tanner was determined to be an artist. He worked endlessly with limited access to schooling and ended up studying at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He was the first African American painter to be celebrated in the United States and Europe.

Henry Ossawa Tanner: His Boyhood Dream Comes True written and illustrated by Faith Ringgold, 2011.
