This pale blue box contains 6 pencils printed with various symbols, logos and product names of the Giant Portland Cement Company. The box reads in black "Giant Portland Cement/ Assorted/ A Standard Brand Since 1883", The reverse lists the locations of mills and the Philadelphia and New York phone numbers. This hand fan is made of paper and has a wood handle. One side has a color print of Theodore Roosevelt waving and reads, in part"The American's Creed/ I believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the peple, for the people...I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag and to defend it against all enemies". On the reverse is an advertisment in black, "Roosevelt Savings Bank/ Gates Ave. at Broadway, Brooklyn, N.Y.../ Our Bank Sells Happiness and Security".

This woman's folding hand fan is made of paper and has three leaf panels printed on one side with many colored flowers in a bowl. The reverse reads in black "Buy United States Government Defense Bonds At This Savings Bank/ The Dime Savings Bank Of Williamsburg/ Havemeyer and South Fifth Streets/ Brooklyn, N.Y."

A nut or lobster set in a hinged wood box. The inside of the lid reads in gold on a textured paper background "Academy of Music, New York. E.G. Gilomre and Eugene Tompkins, Proprietors and Managers./ Wm. A. Brady's $25,000 Production of/ Uncle Tom's Cabin/ 100th Performance May 13th 1901". Inside is a fitted cloth form that holds five nut picks and a nutcracker, with room for a sixth pick that is missing.

This yellowcardboard carton has a photograph of a baby's face surrounded by a blue blanket and reads, in part "Light Scent/ SunRinse Fresh/ Downy Refill/ Liquid Fabric Softener".

This wooden form is shaped like a leg and is used for drying stockings. It is burned with the number "5 1/2" and has a paper label that reads, in part "Traveling Agent of/ F.A. Gordon, Manufacturer of Hosiery Boards. Bristol, N.H./ Showing grade of lumber and finish used in the manufacture of hosiery boards. Please note the uniform thickness and perfect finish of sides and edges. The uniform thickness giving proper results in pressing. This board is of rock maple, from central New Hampshire; the best timber grown for this purpose...".

A ceramic or porcelain doll's head wearing a hat marked "Liberty", in unpainted white. One the reverse, faintly, "APD MF. Co.". See also 2002.1.2144 for full color painted version. With documentation from aquisition, used to promote Liberty Bonds during WWI and foundby son in manufacturer's Bronx loft 1987.

A child's writing and drawing slate. One side has a black slate and a glass window. The reverse has clips for holding drawing behind the window for tracing, and a space behind the slate for storing more drawings. The back has a paper label that reads "New Reversible Slate, With three seperate[sic] parts for drawing./ Great Combination, Secured by three Patents, 29th June 1878, re-issue granted and Patent applied for. C.C. Shepherd, New York".
