From 1924 to 1934, Nadelman's collection was displayed in his Museum of Folk Arts, located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The Historical Society purchased Nadelman's entire collection in 1937.

Description:
Wrought iron wafer iron; hinged circular plates ( or 'baker') and taper handles which terminate in spheres; interior of one plate is a grid pattern and interior of the opposite plate is a symmetrical arrangement of tree, pineapple, bird, and other motifs.

This wafer iron was made for the White House Kitchen in 1820. Only approximately 20 existed and they provided the Presidents with patriotic ice cream wafers. This wafer iron was bought by a dealer from Thomas Boardman of the Boardman family of Hartford, Conn. Boardman used an eagle touchmark similar to the Great Seal depicted on this wafer iron.
