This calthrop was excavated in 1915 by Reginald P. Bolton, William L. Calver, and others prior to the formation of the Field Exploration Committee in 1918, at the British camp on the Dyckman farm (Hut W), between Seaman and Payson Avenues and 204th and Academy Streets in Washington Heights. Calthrops were placed on the ground with one point up and used to impede the progress of advancing troops. This calthrop was stored with the Reginald Pelham Bolton Collection in the Morris-Jumel Mansion.

These coins were excavated by the Field Exploration Committee at British Revolutionary War sites in Washington Heights. Five of the Spanish coins were found on Fort Washington Avenue, near the garrison camp of Fort Washington at 181st Street and Bennett Avenue. Three British and on Hessian coin were found in the military camp at 201st Street and 9th Avenue. Spanish coins were often used to pay Hessian soldiers.

This artillery shell fragment was excavated by the Field Exploration Committee on September 3, 1908 at Crown Point, a fort on Lake Champlain in New York. Built by the French and called Fort St. Frederic, the fort was destroyed by a French commander in 1759 in anticipation of its capture by General Amherst. Rebuilt and named Crown Point, the fort was captured on May 11, 1775 by the Green Mountain Boys, garrisoned with American troops, and recaptured in June, 1777 by General Burgoyne's army.
