The print shows men and a woman waiting in what apppears to be a train station over the caption "Failing To Find Rest And Quiet In The Country, She Decides To Return Home./ Copyright 1901, Life Publishing Co." A facsimile of Gibson's signature appears with the print. Royal Doulton stamped mark on the back, made in England, 1903

Description: 
A black wood and cardboard case covered in leather-grained paper and lined in black velvet with 34 little fitted compartments 29 of which hold miniature plastic license plates, with a state and number on one side and an advertisment on the reverse. Each is in a metal frame with a loop for hanging and as a key fob. Several examples include "SK-329/ Ohio-1939" and the reverse "Tires The Trade Paper Of The Tire Industry"; "1940/ Florida/ 1D-744" and the reverse "L.H. Hamel Leather Co./ Tanners"; "ALA/ 42-859/ 40" and the reverse "Gregory/ Coal and Lumber/ Company, Inc./ Great Neck-New York"; and "1940 Penna/ 9P407" and the reverse "Riverside Military Academy". One is made to resemble a social security card, another has only someone's initials, and one seems to be a general sample marked "Your Number/ 00-00/ Your Own State", indicating that these could be individually customized for the customer as well as the advertiser. Several were donation gifts from the Disabled Veterans Assoc. A paper label on the inside lid reads "Invented by John J. Ross/ LeRoco Inc./ The Miniature License Plates/ 236 West 55th Street/ New York, N.Y."
