It is printed in gold near the bottom front "Souvenir Of/ B. & W. Bernstein/ 36 and 38 So. Pearl St./ Furniture & Cloaks".

Embossed with monograms, leaf and floral patterns and product information on the front "Minett & Company/ Varnish Makers/ Coach & Car Varnishes/ Baking Japans/ Blk Rub/ Offices 60 Pearl St. N.Y./ 16 N. 12St. Phi'a/ Pat'd May 10th 1881", on the sides "Japanners/ Varnishes/ House Painters Varnishes", "Piano Forte Varnishes/ Cabinet Makers Varnishes". The rear has a hinged door for filling the ink wells.
