This machine carved bas-relief wooden plaque was one of the first machine- made mass produced souvenirs. Made for the Centennial Celebration in 1876, this plaque shows "Memorial Hall", has a gold painted border and is still in its original pale teal green box.

Description: 
This brown metal coin bank is shaped and embossed to resemble a domed pavillion. It is embossed above the coin slot in the center "Elting & Sons/ Clothiers", and near the bottom "1492 1892 /Administration Bldg. Columbian Exhibition". The coins can be removed through a combination lock hatch in the bottom by lining up the numbers 4 and 2 at the indicator line. The back is embossed "Columbian Magic Savings Bank", and a metal piece inside the coin slot indicated that it once had a spring-loaded a mechanical mechanism for inserting the coin that has broken off.

A hand sewn mitten shaped pincushion made from dark purple cloth with white blanket stitching around the edges and a pink ribbon coiled into a rosebud applied at one end. It has been padded and when the wrist area is opened, a beige cloth studded with pins is exposed.
