This cardboard spool hold a woven ribbon of dark blue cotton trim. It has a beige paper label printed in black with a central symbol of a five-pointed star marked with the initials "B&M S F" encircled by the words "The Best/ Ask For It", and reads "Patented June 25 1878/ Reissued Jan. 1880/ Star Braid". The side reads "Extra Wide" and the other provides a measuring scale in inches.
