Description: 
A tiny calendar for the year 1903 also used for carrying stamps. The cover is red textured paper. The inside pages read, in part, "The Gorham Calendar and Stamp Holder/ Gorham Co. Silversmiths and Goldsmiths, New York", with a page for every month, phases of the moon and specially treated brown paper pages in the center for mounting stamps. Closes with a tiny leather strap. Wrapped in a dark green paper wrapper with a lion, an anchor and a letter "G" in yellow on the front.

The inside pages read, in part, "The Black, Starr & Frost Calendar and Stamp Holder for the Year 1917/", with a list of departments at Black, Starr & Frost including Diamonds, Pearls, Matched Necklaces of Rare Pearls, Gold and Silver smithing, Leather Goods and Watches. A two page history of the company follows the department list. There is also a page for every month, the phases of the moon and specially treated brown paper pages in the center for mounting stamps. Closes with a leather strap.

An orange display card mounted with fifteen envelopes containing different size needles. Ten needle packets are 2 x 1 1/2 in. and black with a white label printed gold or silver with a red border and a black portrait of a crowned woman in the center surrounded by green leaves and red flowers. The six gold envelopes are marked "Queen Marie/ Gold Ey'd/ Sharps", each with a different gauge size including two 1/5 and 3/9; 4/8, 5/10. The four silver envelopes are marked "Queen Marie/ Silver Ey'd/ Sharps", each with a different gauge size including 2, 3, 4 and 5. Two 2 x 1 1/4 in. envelopes are printed with a different portraits and one reads "Queen Royal Gold Ey'd Sharps 1/5" and the other "Queen Victoria Silver Ey'd Sharps 1/5". Three 2 1/4 x 2 envelopes are included. One reads "Queen Marie Gold Ey'd Sharps 5/10", one reads "Queen Victoria Gold Ey'd Sharps 4/8", and one reads "Queen Victoria Silver Ey'd Sharps 1/5".
