Description: 
This tiny black wooden chest has a 'C' clasp closure and a padded, specially shaped cloth lined interior. A small brass tool, with a very small sharp iron blade nestles in a fitted compartment. The device has a spring-loaded trigger and a hook on the blade for locking it into firing position. Probably a circumcision tool.

This strip of waxed paper holds sixteen circular black stickers with bright pink triangles above the words "Silence=Death", the motto of the Gay organization 'Act-Up', active since 1987, which refers to the importance of increasing information and public awareness of the disease AIDS. In March of 1987, ACT UP was formed in New York City by a group of people as a diverse, nonpartisan group of individuals united in anger and committed to direct action to end the AIDS Crisis. They meet with government and health officials; they support research and distribute the latest medical information as well as holding public protests and demonstratoins.
