Two pinback campaign buttons each divided horizontally into red, white and blue sections printed with "I Like Ike" across the white center section. Dwight David Eisenhower, "Ike", (1890-1969) -- Republican; general in the U.S. Army during World War II; President of the United States, 1953-61; President of Columbia University 1948-53; and from 1971 to 1978, his portrait appeared on the U.S. dollar coin.

Gallery Label: 
Pershing was born in Missouri on September 13, 1860 and graduated from West Point in 1886. He served in the Spanish-American War, the Philippines Insurrection, the Mexican Expedition and was the overall American Commander in Europe during World War I. Following the war, he served as Army Chief of Staff. He died at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington on July 15, 1948 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Inside the lid, a picture of a woman in a classical toga surrounded by items of culture, industry and scholarship such as a globe, an anvil, a gear, a sheaf of grain, a scroll and an artist's palette.
