Smith (ca. 1868-1949), a cotton broker and sportsman, in 1896. The marriage ended in divorce in 1909, and in 1916 the subject married Charles Whitney Carpenter, Jr. (ca. 1885-1954), a New York stockbroker. After this marriage ended in divorce about 1928, the subject was known as Mrs. Tailer Carpenter.
