Brown, red, and yellow wool and natural cotton Beiderwand jacquard coverlet; circular floral medallion at center within ornate frame with scalloped inner edge, scrolled outer edge, and flower and fruit decoration, the whole enclosed in a rectangle with a shield-bodied eagle in each lower corner; wide floral border with zigzag edge on three sides.

Genealogical records suggest that it was used by Elizabeth D. Kensett (b.1817) who married Horation Nelson Vail of New York City in 1833 and Sarah Marshall Kensett (b. 1822) who married Noah Kellogg in 1845.
