This month at Sunday Story Time we're celebrating African-American artists! Join us this week to read Jake Makes A World.

Jacob Lawrence moved to Harlem as a young boy and drew inspiration for his later career as a painter from observing African-American culture during the Harlem Renaissance. He is now celebrated as a great American artist and storyteller.

This month at Sunday Story Time we're celebrating African-American artists! Join us this week to read Jazz Age Josephine.

Dancer and singer Josephine Baker was the embodiment of the Roaring Twenties and the American Jazz Age. Jazz Age Josephine tells the story of her life, including its hardships and her journey to stardom as a performer in Paris.

This Veterans Day weekend, we’re exploring the history of the Vietnam War through Lai’s National Book Award-winning novel in verse about a young girl’s transition from Vietnam to Alabama after the fall of Saigon. Lai will join us to meet families and discuss her book. Then we’ll explore part of the Museum’s landmark exhibition The Vietnam War in a family friendly mini-tour.

Join us this week to read about Eloise’s eclectic group of friends. Eloise introduces us to her companion Nanny, Weenie the dog, and her pet turtle Skipperdee. The four friends live happiliy as a family at The Plaza.
