A brown paper cigar shaped novelty fan. The wood end of the cigar is pulled up and a red, white and blue stars and stripes fan unfolds from inside the cigar. A red and yellow paper band encircles the cigar and reads "Latest Cigar Fan/ Made in Japan", and a white label reads "Yankee Pedlar/ Box 34/ Glen, New Hampshire".

Description:
A gold colored metal two-part medal and a tiny pin. The top pin bar section has embossed lettering that reads "First Commander" with a Christian cross with radiating rays attached by a chain link. It is attached by two long chains to the circular lower section and mounted with a central plaque. The central plaque in encircled by a band of black enamel that reads in gold "Nemo Me Impune Lacesset/ Commandery of St. Andrew". The central plaque has radiating rays around a figure in red and blue robes supporting a cross with each arm engraved and highlighted in red with a different symbol, two lions, three lions, a Christian cross and a German cross. A finial at the bottom of the medal reads "No. 13/ VA". The reverse has been engraved by a jeweler "Em. George Jacoby Freedley/ 1910-1911". "K.T." stands for "Knights Templar". A tiny pin has been attached next to the medal, with a white enameled crescent moon crossed by a curved scimitar sword, a red five-pointed star and a blue banner marked "ACCA" at the top. This quasi-Egyptian and Arabic symbolism is representative of the Acca Temples of America also known as the Shriner's, notable for their red fez hats, miniature car parades and most significantly, philanthropic maintenance of hospitals for ill and disabled children.
