Description:
Model of a hand-drawn, hand-powered fire engine used by the New York Volunteer Fire Department's Howard Engine Co. No. 34; gold and black painted wooden wheels and frame support red painted wooden body with molded panels and gold trim; "RED ROVER / 34" painted in gold on pump chamber and "HOWARD / 34" in black on gray leather covered cylinder; cord wound on two horizontal spools in front and threaded through loops in T-shaped metal handle at end of tongue.
