Description:
This gray cardboard box contains tailor's chalk packed in sawdust to keep it dry. It has a print on the lid and side in black of a bald man in a bowtie with a measuring tape around his neck and a tab of chalk in his hand. It reads in black " 'Jems'/ Tailors' Chalk/ 'Unexcelled in Quality'/ For complete satisfaction use aa Tailors' Crayons showing the 'Old Tailor'." Inside are a few pieces of white , black and terra cotta colored tabs of chalk.

Description:
This plain wood thread holder has 8 prongs for holding spools separated by a central faded red cloth covered bar-shaped pincushion and a large tapering post for holding a thimble. 7 spools of thread fill the holder: green, blue and taupe spools unmarked; peach colored marked "Star Twist/ will boil"; silver marked "Rice's Sewing Silk"; dark red marked "Sew-Well"; and tomato red marked "Star Twist". The bottom of the holder is stamped in black "C. Tollner, Pat'd June 1st, 1880."

Description:
This round wood cansiter is a thread holder and dispenser with 6 prongs for holding spools. The lid has a print of the ruins of a stone house marked "Alloway Kirk" and the canister base a print of a cottage marked "Burn's Cottage". The box reads "Clark's/ O.N.T./ Spool Cotton/ George A. Clark/ Sole Agent/ Made of Wood/ Grown/ On The Banks/ Of The Doon." Six holes fitted with white celluloid grommets are evenly arranged around the base for neatly dispensing the six different colored threads that would be held inside.
