This is a view of the engagement between the British frigate Macedonian, 38 guns, Captain John S. Carden, and the United States frigate United States, 44 guns, Commodore Stephan Decatur. The ninety-minute battle took place in the Atlantic Ocean several hundred miles west of the Canary Islands on October 25, 1812. This shows the end of the engagement after the surrender of the British frigate.
