Description:
Dark olive drab wool Marine staff sergent's single-breasted coat; double collar and shallow lapels, Marine insignia on corners of collar, with eagle above slanted anchor, with half-globe over the center; shoulder loops which button at the collar end; 4 buttons down the front (bottom button replaced); staff sergent's insignia on left shoulder, with 2 chevron stripes above a triangle against red ground; closed sleeves, no cuffs; 4 pockets on the front with flaps which button closed; all buttons cast with eagle clutching fouled anchor with an arc of stars above; 4 panels across the back; coat lined with dark green twill-weave silk, sleeves lined with white silk, horizontal slit pocket at right breast.

Description:
Pair of officer's epaulets; rigid, gold lace-covered strap with a gilded metal button embossed with shield-breasted eagle, the shield bearing the initial "A"; gilded brass crescent surrounding silver embroidered "2"; two layers of gold bullion fringe, the outermost measuring approximately 3 1/4 inches in length and 1/8 inch in diameter; padded rose silk lining and brass channel fastener; in black painted metal storage box with rounded ends, a half-cylindrical indentation at center front and back, and a hinged lid with flat top and wire handle; box has interior compartment, also with hinged lid, containing a miniature viewing device (Z.2988).

Dark blue single-breasted enlisted man's Infantry frock coat with 1" closed stand-up collar lined with dark blue velvet; 9 buttons down the front; no evidence of epaulets at the shoulders; open sleeves with 3 buttons, sleeves 8 3/4" at their widest; 4 panels at the back with 2 buttons near the center at the waistline, a button on each side of split skirt; all buttons cast with shield-breasted eagle clutching branches and arrows in its talons, shield cast with "I"; coat lined with green silk, sleeves lined with white silk, horizontal slit pocket at the left breast lined with brown cotton, a strap on each side at the waistline with metal clasp buckle.
