Dark blue wool New York National Guard officer's single-breasted field coat; closed 1 3/4" double collar (one hook and eye); Corps of Engineers Captain's shoulder straps, with double bars on each end, shield with 3 stars across the top at the center, against white ground; 5 buttons down the front; closed sleeves with false cuffs, 3 buttons at each wrist; all buttons cast with eagle above quadrant shield with an arc of stars and "EXCELSIOR" across the bottom; 4 panels across the back; coat lined with dark green twill-weave cotton, sleeves lined with white cotton with blue pin stripes, vertical slit pocket at the left breast.

Olive brown wool single-breasted women's uniform coat; 4 buttons down the front; double collar with shallow lapels, with "U.S." insignia on each corner of the collar, air service insignia on each corner of lapels; shoulder loops with 2 silver bars, button at the collar end; aviation patch on left shoulder, closed sleeves (no cuffs), with one band of gilt lacing around each wrist; breast pockets with flaps which button closed, color bar above left breast pocket, diagonal slit pockets at the hips; all buttons cast with the Great Seal of the U.S.; 2 panels at the back.
